Established Goings

Psalms 40:2: He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

Many believe that they can be saved and get to Heaven without a changed life. They are wrong. God wants to establish our goings. Note especially who it is that establishes our goings and that He is the only one who can do that right. When He saves us He wants to do a multitude of things to us, for us and through us. First of all, He wants to save us.

2 Peter 3:9: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

He wants to make us new creatures.

2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

He wants to teach us.

John 14:26: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

He wants to teach us what to think, speak and do.

Romans 12:2: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

2 Corinthians 10:5: Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Luke 6:45: A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

He wants to lead us and for us to follow Him.

Romans 8:14: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

John 10:27: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

He wants to guide us.

Psalms 37:23: The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

He wants to protect us.

Proverbs 21:31: The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.

He wants to keep us.

1 Peter 1:5: Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

He wants to comfort us.

2 Corinthians 1:4: Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

He wants to give us peace with Himself.

Romans 5:1: Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

He wants to give us everything we need.

Philippians 4:19: But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

He wants to do more to us, for us and through us than we can ask or think.

Ephesians 3:20: Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
